Overview
Our faculty have world-class fundamental research expertise in all facets of artificial intelligence, machine learning, advanced analytics (including descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analytics), data science, statistics, visualization, data bases, computing platforms, and big data modeling. We also have faculty that specialize in harnessing these technologies and algorithms for advancing research in different application domains, including, engineering, physical sciences, medicine, law, humanities, social sciences, and the arts. Our faculty are very well funded to pursue this research by all the leading federal and state funding agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Defense (DoD), Department of Energy (DOE), Veterans Administration (VA), Homeland Security (DHS), and Department of Education (DoEd).
As for industry engagement, our faculty have extensive collaborations with a wide variety of companies in sectors such as healthcare, insurance, finance, mobility, defense, transportation/logistics, utilities, government, and other service sectors.
